Sale of Derco Eurl in Petit-Forêt, France
The sale of the belt finishing activities of Derco in France is being supervised by Sophista. Derco produces conveyor belts and finishes them with special covers.
Sale of the business
Derco's goal was to sell its belt finishing activities by means of a Management Buy-Out, with a long-term cooperation agreement being a key element of the transaction. In recent years, Derco has undergone so much growth that it has altered its strategic focus. In order to continue building on its success, in the future the business wants to focus more on the production of conveyor belts, meaning that the belt finishing activities are no longer part of the core business.
Sophista's role
Sophista supported Derco's owner, Mr De Ruijter, during the sale of the subsidiary in France. Our work consisted not only of supervising the process as a whole, but also the valuation, negotiating and recording agreements made and assisting with the drawing up of the agreements.
Result
The result was the successful sale of the finishing activities in France to the local management and, at the same time, a long-term cooperation for the future.
